I have finished my next masterpiece! It took longer than expected, but I’m proud of it and I hope you guys (especially super nicey/white paw) like it too.
If anyone else would like a portrait, just ask in the comments below! 🙂
Do you guys remember the Poptopics Book Series? Well two new books from the series are coming out soon! The series is basically about was specific islands are about. I’m serious. For example…
Scary Monsters gives you the low down on the myths and legends behind the creatures you’ve encountered in your adventures on Cryptids Island, Vampire’s Curse Island, Zomberry Island, and more. All of these monsters have a basis in fact — and we’ll reveal them to you!
Wild West is all about the amazing true history of the American frontier. Find out what parts of Wild West Island are made up, and which are based on fact. You might be surprised to learn which is which!
These books will come out on February 20. 🙂
I know, I know, I forgot to post this in December. You guys have to remind me. 😛 Anyway, it’s here now. The Poptropican and Adventurer of December!
The Poptropican is…
Super Nicey (White Paw) deserves this because she’s… super nice! She started to view the ATP and I’m enjoying her comments. She has been an awesome contribution to the ATP world.
The Adventurer is…
Ever since HPuterpop joined the ATP team, things have gotten a lot more colorful. His art, along with his predictions and findings have been really cool. HP is a nice guy who tries to help out all he can, so he totally deserves this award.
Congrats you two!!! 😀
Now, since I always forget to update PAM and since I always chose the winners, I thought it was time to move to a better approach of these awards. I’m going to set up a special message box on our PAM page every month and you guys can vote for who you want to be the Poptropican and Adventurer of the upcoming month! Don’t worry, no one will be able to see the scores. So keep a lookout so you can vote for January! 🙂
Okay, you remember the Labs that Poptropica created for us to experiment with? And you know how mine was kinda pathetic? Well… let’s just say that mine are even more pathetic now. 😆 Wondering why? Because some people made their labs like these:
Big Raptor built this cool launch pad, spaceship, and command center. We are ready for lift-off.
Fast Comet built a huge structure above ground, but it was the underground dungeon that caught our attention. Watch that water table!
Mad Tiger brings us this stately abode, only two gables short of being worthy of literature.
Here, Serious Bird tries to set the record for most stuff piled up in one place.
Wow, now those are impressive. Maybe I should try again with mine… 😛
*voice booms from speakers* Come one, come all to see the great ATP! I, Spotted Dragon, will takes you to place that will make you become a true adventurer…
Vuala! As you can see the ATP had changed to it’s more… monstrous side. This new look includes a great Monster Carnival themed header, along with a creepy MCI background:
So, do you like it? 🙂
Have you seen the most recent episode of Adventure Time, Blade of Grass? Can you not wait for the next episode, Rattleballs? If yes, you would love this post. 😛 If you haven’t seen Blade of Grass, but really want to, click here. Anyway, let’s get started.
I thought Blade of Grass was cute, but not a huge favorite of mine. For one, I liked Finn’s old sword better than his new sword. His new sword is cool and all, but I guess I’ll just have to get used to it. Do you like his new sword? Oh, and the market Finn and Jake went to reminded me a lot of the town in the episodes Finn the Human and Jake the Dog. Did anyone else feel the same? Well, other than that I don’t think there’s much to say about this episode.
The next episode of Adventure Time is called Rattleballs.
Again, doesn’t look like anything too special. Just more on Finn’s new sword. I guess this new sword is a bigger deal than I thought though. Now, if you REALLY can’t wait for this episode, here is a little sneak peek. Sorry for the bad quality of the video. (Don’t watch it if you don’t like spoilers!)
Looks interesting… It’s cool that the grass sword can grow back. Other than that, I don’t really now what to think of this upcoming episode. So what do you guys think?
Also! Don’t forget to vote for Cartoon Network’s Hall of Game Awards! Click here to vote!
Everyone has probably heard about Monster Carnival Island, the island that was meant to be, but never was. Well, everyone should also know that it’s coming out in February! For real! We just recently heard about this though, so even though the word spread quickly, we didn’t know much about the mysterious island. Until now that is! For the Monster Carnival Island Info Page is here! Click here to view it yourself!
Yes, yes,we are all very exited. Let’s just chill out and walk through the page, shall we?
In the dead of night, a caravan rumbles into town. The traveling carnival has returned! But this is no day at the park. Behind the lights and the laughter, the carnival harbors a dark secret. Buy a ticket if you dare, but beware — once you enter, you may never be able to escape the Monster Carnival!
Sounds pretty cool! I just can’t wait! Let’s go behind the tent for some cool pictures of the island in the making…
Well, as you can see in the fourth picture, there is a Tunnel of Love. So, when we were seeing all those love/horror sneak peeks, they were really for MCI! But those aren’t all the cool pictures that the info page has in store. Don’t forget about the awesome island extras! There is a wallpaper and poster waiting for you!
I personally love the design for the monster in the wallpaper. The dark colors and red, glowing eyes make it interestingly spooky. Oh! And notice the face on the Ferris Wheel. It is different in the wallpaper than in the post. It’s also different in the set of pictures above. Does the carnival go into “evil mode” at night, showing it’s true self? Hmm… Anyway, ready to go into the lion’s den? Well, let’s take a look at this bonus…
Doesn’t seem much different than the regular quest to me. Notice how it says another. Looks like we’ll be looking for missing people in the regular quest and bonus quest. Is that it you ask? No way! For members, a special showing…
Members get a Ringmaster Costume, the Raven Swarm Power, and Hypno-powder. Sounds cool! It looks like there will be a lot of raven related things in this island. Also, the Player Map is coming soon. Sadly, that’s basically it for the MCI Info Page.
P.S. The ATP has gotten up to 50 followers! You guys rock! 😀
Guess what??? No, this is not a post about my top 50 favorite islands. There aren’t even 50 islands in Poptropica! No my friends, this is something way more exciting…
The Top 50 Create Your Own Dream Islands! 😀
Sadly, the Creators don’t say who is in the top 50. All I know is that the entree visible in the picture is no mine. 😦
Wouldn’t it be cool if I actually won? Sure, it’s a 1 in 1 thousand chance, but there is still a possibility! Anyway, did any of you guys enter? If you did, good luck! 😉
Poptropica Houses? Naw, that’ll neve–
I was using a suggestible wifi hotspot on the parking lot of Pizza Hut today. I had to make my post about Mocktropica for everyone. I went ahead, and just for fun, logged into my Poptropica account. What did I see on the homepage? Something new:
Poptropica Labs is a new feature for members that allows them to test new and unreleased to the public features. Believe me, I am super excited to see how this turns out. I’m sure most of Ohio and some of Kentucky heard my girly scream when I saw the promo screen.
The newest test is called “Lands”, and is a sort of island maker with cool new features.
So, let’s see what this island maker can do!
Guess what? These labs are in the old format! I’m starting to conclude that Poptropica will never be fully converted into SUI. The main hub of the game will stay the same. Anyway, this was a pretty wild experience! As a beta tester, I couldn’t save my “lands” that I created, but I still had some fun with it.
In a nutshell, this new feature makes Poptropica sorta like Minecraft. It is endless.
The idea is that you can create your own land from scratch. This land can be rainy, volcanoey (is that a word? Google doesn’t think so. 😛 ), crystally, or paradise. You can jump from pregenerated island to pregenerated island, each one different in it’s own way (Note: the blimp goes way too slow on the map…). Generate your own here: http://static.poptropica.com/popups/Demo/landPrototypeMap.swf
When you find an island that suits you, you can start customizing and developing it. Actually, I think that the term “island” should not be used… instead, just use land. Because running around and jumping on platforms is not an island.
Sadly, instead of narfs, Poptropica gives us pet rocks. They have eyes that follow your cursor, sometimes are evil, and did I mention narfs? We need narfs. All these pets do is jump around, run away from you, and act depressed. You hatch these little angels for 10 pop coins each, and they are not worth it. xD
When an angry rock happens to hatch, just blow it up before it chomps on you. Those guys are really annoying. 😛
You probably have been questioning my mentioned “pop coins”. Guess what! Mocktropica is turning into a reality! In labs, everything costs money. When you’re all out, blow up stuff and mine for more! Actually, this feature turns out to be a lot of fun! Although it is a little hard to mine with bombs, I still enjoy this feature. Until you run out of land to blow up and the only place left with money is under the thing you are building… >.<
When you see a sparkling in the soil under you, you blow up the land until you reach it to earn money. Sometimes you’ll only get 15 pop coins, sometimes you’ll get hundreds in big bags. And sometimes, just sometimes, a bag of money will fall out of the sky, and you will have to chase it to the end of the screen to get it. I’m not even joking.
When you finally get around to making a house after trying out all the new features of rocks that move and blowing stuff up, you are going to fail. Miserably.
Turns out, when your environment is rainy, your house will not block out the rain. I guess I didn’t get the memo while creating my house, because I actually made one that you could go into…
So… yeah. You can also do some pretty awesome stuff with the backing of your house:
I put air vents to blow me up the second floor, and mattresses covered the floor when you get there. Don’t ask why that rope is there… Anyway, you can make windows and wood/stone/bamboo backgrounds, etc. I also didn’t get another memo, which was that you can rotate your items with the left and right arrow key. 😛
As you can see in the picture above, the tools that you can build with are limited. You can have a rope, a mattress, an air vent, a door, adjust the water level, an egg that hatches a rock, a stupid basketball that gets stuck in places, a bomb, a ground pile, a stone pillar, a crate, a bunch of building supplies, and that’s pretty much it. Not much to play with it you ask me.
After you finish your fun, you can take a survey and tell them what you think. I’m not going to give the link to everyone because that would definitely mess them up, but I can and will tell you that according to the survey, they have big ideas for this thing:
Those are all great ideas! What do you think about those possibilities?
I think “Lands” needs a little more work. The pets need toys, the tools need additions, the rain setting needs to be able to be turned off, and the angry pets need to appear more. 😛 Those guys are fun. And sorry if I was a little critical in my review… I was expecting something a little different. 😉
