Hello everyone! It’s been a LONG time since I’ve done a review for an episode (last review was in May) XD , and I thought it would fit to review the first episode of Arabian Nights: How Bazaar, since the second episode is coming soon.
From now on, I’m going to write reviews a little differently, by rating several factors. Plot, music, setting, and game-play.
After the forty thieves ransack his city, a desperate sultan has one request: find the thieves’ lair, and bring back his most cherished possession!
The beginning of Arabian Nights provides a mysterious build up for the upcoming development in the story, with elegant and secretive scenery.
Plot & Story: Though the plot line for this island is not very complex, I still find it interesting. 40 thieves have raided an entire city, and you must find their secret hideout and get the sultan’s prized possession. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. After you find this mysterious cave, it almost seems too obvious what lurks inside. But, it’s empty.
Then, things get even weirder. Going to the abandoned and silent area of the city, you find that whatever is placed on the disk is taken by the thieves, but it’s done so quickly you cannot catch them.
It isn’t until you drag a slow mammal onto it and look through an old spyglass that you see the secret uncovered.
In order to activate this beast’s head to appear, all you have to say is “Open Sesame!”. Really?
Setting: This has to be the best thing out of the entire episode. Just look at this:
The Creators definitely worked hard on this one, it looks awesome.
Music: The music in this one is quieter, as if hidden in the shadows, so it fit well with the episode, but there was nothing special about it.
This episode really only had one element to it, and it was something we’ve done before. Trading.
We also use smoke bombs, which, again, is something we’ve thrown before.
I hope that the next episode introduces different elements that we have not done before, to keep it more exciting.
The average score of all of the ratings is…….. 7/10!
Thanks for reading! I look forward to playing/reviewing the second episode, Lair of Thieves, that comes out for members on December 11. 🙂
