Special Set of 7

Okay… so I got some bad news guys. Remember the whole Nabooti demo thing and how Nabooti Island is only for members now? Well, more islands have joined the members only club.

membership islands

There may be over 40 islands, but now 7 of those islands are exclusive for members. Those islands include:

Non-members can still play a demo of each island, but nothing beyond that.

Yes, what we have feared is true. I just hope Poptropica won’t become completely membership oriented. 😦

Arabian Nights for Members Only & New Chat Options!

Hiya, Silver Wolf here, and we have two big announcements! Plus, a little bit of oldish news for you guys. As you can tell, the post is about Arabian Nights Episode 3 and the New Chat Options! I’ll also be talking a little about Nabooti Island and the Credits raise. Keep reading to find out more!

New Chat Options!

Chat OptionsIf you’re like me, you’ve probably gone to Common Rooms…a lot. And if you’re really like me, you also know how frustrating it is when…you get the same exact chat option as before. Yes, if you’re dedicated to Poptropica, you’ve probably ran into this problem before (unless you don’t like Common Rooms, which is fine, too). Well, the pain is over! Like Black Widow said, “Now, another one of your wishes has come true. We’ve just added dozens of new chat options to Poptropica common rooms!” You can see some of the new options to the right. They include:

  • Would you rather spend the night in a cemetery or a haunted house?
  • What do you prefer to drink when you’re thirsty?
  • Do you have any brothers or sisters?

And others? Well…you’re just going to have to play Poptropica yourself to find out! And if you’re wondering what the heck a ‘Common Room’ is, they’re rooms where you can safely chat pre-made messages with other Poptropica players, play games with them, and friend them! Most of the Common Rooms are on the first street you land on in Poptropica.

Arabian Nights: Careful What You Wish For Released for Members!

Arabian Nights

Yep! That’s right! FINALLY, Arabian Nights Episode 3 has been released to Members only. Hopefully it will be released to Non-Members soon, but with Nabooti being only available for Members right now, nobody’s exactly sure. Here’s a description of the island if you would like to know more about it first:

The genie is out of the bottle, and now everyone wants a chance to make their wishes come true. But whether you’re a greedy merchant, a lovelorn palace guard, or a Sultan with a long-buried secret, heed this advice: be careful what you wish for!

Make sure to also visit the Arabian Nights Champion Map so you can see all of Arabian Nights’ winners! As always, you can also look up your friends’ ranks and look at your own. Tomorrow I’ll try to make a list of the Top 10 Champions and maybe make a review, if I have time. 😛

Final Hall of Fame, Credit Raise, & Membership

The last Hall of Fame winner is here, so let’s get straight to the point! The winner is… Sneaky Bear!

sneaky bear

Sneaky Bear can now be found on main street of Super Power Island.

super power island

She has replaced yet another NPC, but this time the Poptropican she replaced was a character that always had a random outfit every time you visit.

Well the Hall of Fame is now over, but the Creators say that “the doors of the Poptropica Hall of Fame may one day open again.”

Moving on, we have some… good and bad news.

Good news first! 😀

credit raise

You know how when you finish an island you receive 50 credits? Not anymore! But don’t worry, it didn’t just get taken away. We now earn 150 credits! 🙂

While this is great for when you need to save up for something in the store, there are actually a lot of conflicted feelings about this.

Before everyone gets all fussy, I want to share my opinion on the matter.

  1. If we are getting more credits, we need more things to buy! I think we should have more Store items and costumes to choose from. Stuff that isn’t only for members!
  2. I think that the amount of credits we earn after the quest should be based on the island’s play length and difficulty. The Creators would just have to estimate this when making the island.

Okay, so why is everyone conflicted about this? Well, here comes the bad news.

nabooti demo

For some background information on the whole Nabooti Demo thing, be sure to read my post about it.

Anyway, the Creators have explained that Nabooti Island will be members only for the time being. You can probably assume what that implies.

So… lots of enticing membership deals.

Will more islands face the same fate? Hopefully not! Poptropica has been the popular site it is because of many things. One of those things being that members don’t totally rule over non-members.

Well, we will see what’s to come!

Hall of Fame Winner Mighty Burger, Nabooti Demo, Realms Sharing, & More

LOTS to talk about today guys! Let’s start off with the most recent Hall of Fame Winner… Mighty Burger!

mighty burger

Mighty Burger is from Canada and has completed 53 islands since the contest started. Now that’s impressive! 😀

mighty burger reality tv island

He can now be found on Reality TV Island.

Meanwhile, some sketchy stuff is happening on Nabooti Island.

nabooti demo

If you’re a non-member and you go to Nabooti Island, you will come across a “play the demo” label. After playing a while, you won’t be able to finish and will instead face the “end of the demo” page.

Could this mean that Nabooti will be the next SUI? I can’t seem to think of any other explanation.

In other news, we will soon be able to share realms!

realms sharing

We will also soon be able to play Arabian Nights Episode 3! Most likely in July, to be specific.

Careful What You Wish For
The genie is out of the bottle, and now everyone wants a chance to make their wishes come true. But whether you’re a greedy merchant, a lovelorn palace guard, or a Sultan with a long-buried secret, heed this advice: be careful what you wish for!

Dun, dun, duhhhh!!! Share you predictions for the island in the comments! 🙂

Hall of Fame Winners Dangerous Glove & Lazy Pelican

Hey guys! Now that summer is here, I am happy to say that I will be posting more often! Or at least I think so. Hopefully, that goes for the rest of the ATP’s authors as well. 😛

Anyway, I’m also glad to say we have our very first Hall of Fame winner! If you are completely oblivious to the entire subject, read our first post regarding the Hall of Fame.

Without further adieu, the first featured player is… Dangerous Glove! Of course, you probably already gathered that she won from the title of this post. 🙂

hall of fame dangerous glove

Her Poptropican is now on the main street of Night Watch Island.

As I was writing this post, the second featured Poptropican was also announced!

hall of fame lazy pelican

You can now find Lazy Pelican on the main street of Game Show Island.

hall of fame game show

Might not be a “reward,” but you get what you get I guess.

Remember that every time you earn an island medallion (even by replaying an island), your name will be entered into a raffle-like contest to be a part of the Hall of Fame. If you get chosen, also remember that the outfit you were wearing when you won will be the outfit that you are shown in; your costume doesn’t update.

Moving on, you probably already know that the PHB had a Q&A with a Poptropica Creator! I highly encourage you to check it out. If I haven’t already convinced you to check it out, note that some awesome things are hinted at, such as an upcoming island (“Some place you don’t wanna be.“)!

Now, this hint seems to relate to recent Daily Pops depicting a prison.

What the island will specifically be about, I don’t know.

Until next time! 🙂

Poptropica: Hall of Fame & More

Hey guys! Sorry for all the inactivity. Hopefully in a week or two we will be able to post more often, being done with school and exams. Anyway, there are a few big announcements that we should catch up on.

If you haven’t heard already, Poptropica is starting a Hall of Fame contest! Well not exactly a contest… lemme explain.

hall of fame

The more islands you complete, the more likely you will win. If you do win, your Poptropican will be featured on the main street of a Poptropica Island! You will be the star for an entire week! 😛 For more detailed information on the Hall of Fame, read the Creators’ original post.

Moving onto the more minor stuff, there are a lot of behind the scenes images to share from Twitter (like always).

The first two don’t look like Poptropica’s normal art style, so it is probably meant for a sponsored island. Specifically, Timmy Failure Island, which will be coming out soon. The last picture, well, I’m not entirely sure. Post your ideas in the comments below!

While this next image isn’t exactly a behind the scenes masterpiece, it is still some pretty darn good concept art.

concept art 1

Lastly, some updates to the Poptropica App are coming soon. Specifically, a Mystery of the Map balloon game and royal costumes.

Pretty neat! That’s all for now guys. I hope to post more often soon! Thank you to all my authors that have been helping me out. 🙂

Release Dates & Mysterious BTS Images

Hey guys! Lots of stuff on Twitter, as usual. I asked the Creators about release dates for islands and sadly, they had nothing specific to give me. However, we now have a general idea of when new islands are coming out! Knowing the Poptropica Creators though, the dates below could change.

release dates

Like I said, all we got is the general idea of release dates. At least it’s something, right? 😛

Now, the islands in the tweet above aren’t the only ones in our future. The Creators want your opinion on some mysterious new designs for a mysterious new island. Remember, nothing is official yet, so the island might not even come out!

Of course their idea somehow relates to jail, judging by the police officers, inmates, and canines above. Hopefully we will have more info on the island soon!

Moving on to different islands, we also have two other behind the scenes images from Twitter.

The first image shows a, uh, man-baby of sorts… *cough* and the other shows on old fort on a tropical island. These pictures are most likely for Arabian Nights Island and Myserty of the Maps Island. Post any ideas you have about how the man-baby relates to the island below! 🙂

Last, but not least, we have PopStorm 24!

popstorm 24

This one is basically the creativity of a Poptropica Creator. 😛

That’s all for now!

MotM Interview, PopStorms, FunBrain Ads, & More

Hello my fellow Poptropicans! No, the blog isn’t dead! I know we haven’t been the most active lately, but I’m going to try my best to fix that. Of course that means I need a lot of help from my authors. More info on activity to come. 😉

Thankfully, we haven’t missed too much. However, a ton of stuff is changing over at the Poptropica Help Blog, along with its name. They are joining the Poptropica Wiki among other things, to expand the Poptropica community. To be honest, I’m a little overwhelmed by it all. However, I encourage you to go check things out.

Anyway, let’s start off with a recent interview with the illustrator for the Myserty of the Map series, Kory Merritt. Note that Capatin Crawfish had the interview, not us. 😛

Captain Crawfish: How did you get involved in illustrating Mystery of the Map?

Kory Merritt: The Poptropica Creators originally hired me to illustrate the Poptropica comic strip. After a little while they asked me to try some graphic novel page samples, which led to me working on “Mystery of the Map” with author Max “Galactic Hot Dogs” Brallier.

CC: What are the challenges of adapting Poptropica’s art style from an online game to a graphic novel? What are the joys?

KM: Poptropica has a very distinct style. I’m actually an art teacher by day and didn’t have much freelance experience, so working for Poptropica was the first time I had to draw someone else’s characters. It took a little while to get the hang of it – the Poptropica design might seem simple at times, but there are little details that can make or break the characters. Fortunately, the Poptropica Creators were very patient and helped guide me along. I’m pretty happy with the results, for I think the illustrations resemble the standard Poptropican model, but at the same time have a hand-drawn, comic-type feel.

CC: What’s your process for illustrating the book?

KM: I’m old-fashioned enough to still use pen and paper for the most part, but for “Mystery of the Map” I also used digital color and made corrections in Photoshop.

CC: Who’s your favorite MotM character to draw?

KM: The Vikings! It’s fun to draw angry faces.

CC: What other projects have you worked on that Poptropicans might like to know about?

KM: I draw some of my own stories, mostly just for fun. One of them is on FunBrain, and some are on GoComics.com. It seems I will also have my own illustrated book coming out later this year, published by Andrews McMeel.

Pretty cool! While on the subject of Mystery of the Map, an island for the comic series will be coming out soon!

We have proven this by multiple Daily Pops suggesting the island, along with the fact that if you search for the URL mysteryofthemapisland.com, you will be redirected to Poptropica.com.

While still talking about island sneak peeks, we have yet another image for Arabian Nights, Episode 3.

arab

Moving on, Popstorms 20 and 21 are here! 20 is entitled Practicing Powerful Poses and 21 is entitled Frantic Freckles.

Cute, as always. 😛

Moving on yet again, there is a new ad that has been popping up on FunBrain, featuring Poptropica. Of course FunBrain has always advertised for Poptropica (and vise versa), but this one is new.

Click here to view where the ad has been seen. You will have to refresh the page to see the 3 different versions. As you can see in the images above, the ad features some well known Poptropicans from the blogging community! We don’t know everyone shown, but we do know a lot of them. From left to right, Super Thunder, HPuterpop, Spotted Dragon (me), Green Boa, Coskit, Slanted Fish, Shaggy Tornado, Rainbow Dash/ElmoPwns, (IDK), MT/Happy Wolf, (IDK), and (IDK).

Moving on yet again… again… (I’m not great at transitions), the Creators released a fun Bingo Card that has characters from PoptropiCon Episode 3 on it.

bingo

Of course, the center title is a free space and you need to complete a row/column/diagonal to win. Good luck! 🙂

That’s all for now!
