motm for everyone

Great news guys! Mystery of the Map Island is officially out for everyone.

In other news, for a limited time there is a much faster way to obtain Poptanium.

When you visit Poptropica Realms, you have the chance to use a lightsaber, in honor of Star Wars Rebels.

The lightsaber allows you to more efficiently collect Poptanium, but only for a limited time. So visit Poptropica Realms before the lightsabers disappear!

Poptropica: Hall of Fame & More

Hey guys! Sorry for all the inactivity. Hopefully in a week or two we will be able to post more often, being done with school and exams. Anyway, there are a few big announcements that we should catch up on.

If you haven’t heard already, Poptropica is starting a Hall of Fame contest! Well not exactly a contest… lemme explain.

hall of fame

The more islands you complete, the more likely you will win. If you do win, your Poptropican will be featured on the main street of a Poptropica Island! You will be the star for an entire week! ๐Ÿ˜› For more detailed information on the Hall of Fame, read the Creators’ original post.

Moving onto the more minor stuff, there are a lot of behind the scenes images to share from Twitter (like always).

The first two don’t look like Poptropica’s normal art style, so it is probably meant for a sponsored island. Specifically, Timmy Failure Island, which will be coming out soon. The last picture, well, I’m not entirely sure. Post your ideas in the comments below!

While this next image isn’t exactly a behind the scenes masterpiece, it is still some pretty darn good concept art.

Lastly, some updates to the Poptropica App are coming soon. Specifically, a Mystery of the Map balloon game and royal costumes.

Pretty neat! That’s all for now guys. I hope to post more often soon! Thank you to all my authors that have been helping me out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Release Dates & Mysterious BTS Images

Hey guys! Lots of stuff on Twitter, as usual. I asked the Creators about release dates for islands and sadly, they had nothing specific to give me. However, we now have a general idea of when new islands are coming out! Knowing the Poptropica Creators though, the dates below could change.

release dates

Like I said, all we got is the general idea of release dates. At least it’s something, right? ๐Ÿ˜›

Now, the islands in the tweet above aren’t the only ones in our future. The Creators want your opinion on some mysterious new designs for a mysterious new island. Remember, nothing is official yet, so the island might not even come out!

Of course their idea somehow relates to jail, judging by the police officers, inmates, and canines above. Hopefully we will have more info on the island soon!

Moving on to different islands, we also have two other behind the scenes images from Twitter.

The first image shows a, uh, man-baby of sorts… *cough* and the other shows on old fort on a tropical island. These pictures are most likely for Arabian Nights Island and Myserty of the Maps Island. Post any ideas you have about how the man-baby relates to the island below! ๐Ÿ™‚

Last, but not least, we have PopStorm 24!

This one is basically the creativity of a Poptropica Creator. ๐Ÿ˜›

That’s all for now!

MotM Interview, PopStorms, FunBrain Ads, & More

Hello my fellow Poptropicans! No, the blog isn’t dead! I know we haven’t been the most active lately, but I’m going to try my best to fix that. Of course that means I need a lot of help from my authors. More info on activity to come. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thankfully, we haven’t missed too much. However, a ton of stuff is changing over at the Poptropica Help Blog, along with its name. They are joining the Poptropica Wiki among other things, to expand the Poptropica community. To be honest, I’m a little overwhelmed by it all. However, I encourage you to go check things out.

Anyway, let’s start off with a recent interview with the illustrator for the Myserty of the Mapย series,ย Kory Merritt. Note that Capatin Crawfish had the interview, not us. ๐Ÿ˜›

Captain Crawfish: How did you get involved in illustrating Mystery of the Map?ย

Kory Merritt: The Poptropica Creators originally hired me to illustrate the Poptropica comic strip. After a little while they asked me to try some graphic novel page samples, which led to me working on “Mystery of the Map” with author Max “Galactic Hot Dogs” Brallier.

CC: What are the challenges of adapting Poptropica’s art style from an online game to a graphic novel? What are the joys?ย

KM: Poptropica has a very distinct style. I’m actually an art teacher by day and didn’t have much freelance experience, so working for Poptropica was the first time I had to draw someone else’s characters. It took a little while to get the hang of it – the Poptropica design might seem simple at times, but there are little details that can make or break the characters. Fortunately, the Poptropica Creators were very patient and helped guide me along. I’m pretty happy with the results, for I think the illustrations resemble the standard Poptropican model, but at the same time have a hand-drawn, comic-type feel.

CC: What’s your process for illustrating the book?

KM: I’m old-fashioned enough to still use pen and paper for the most part, but for “Mystery of the Map” I also used digital color and made corrections in Photoshop.

CC: Who’s your favorite MotM character to draw?

KM: The Vikings! It’s fun to draw angry faces.

CC: What other projects have you worked on that Poptropicans might like to know about?

KM: I draw some of my own stories, mostly just for fun. One of them is on FunBrain, and some are on GoComics.com. It seems I will also have my own illustrated book coming out later this year, published by Andrews McMeel.

Pretty cool! While on the subject of Mystery of the Map, an island for the comic series will be coming out soon!

We have proven this by multiple Daily Pops suggesting the island, along with the fact that if you search for the URL mysteryofthemapisland.com, you will be redirected to Poptropica.com.

While still talking about island sneak peeks, we have yet another image for Arabian Nights, Episode 3.

Moving on, Popstorms 20 and 21 are here! 20 is entitledย Practicing Powerful Poses and 21 is entitled Frantic Freckles.

Cute, as always. ๐Ÿ˜›

Moving on yet again, there is a new ad that has been popping up on FunBrain, featuring Poptropica. Of course FunBrain has always advertised for Poptropica (and vise versa), but this one is new.

Click here to view where the ad has been seen. You will have to refresh the page to see the 3 different versions. As you can see in the images above, the ad features some well known Poptropicans from the blogging community! We don’t know everyone shown, but we do know a lot of them. From left to right,ย Super Thunder, HPuterpop, Spotted Dragon (me), Green Boa,ย Coskit, Slanted Fish, Shaggy Tornado, Rainbow Dash/ElmoPwns,ย (IDK), MT/Happy Wolf, (IDK), and (IDK).

Moving on yet again… again… (I’m not great at transitions), the Creators released a fun Bingo Card that has characters from PoptropiCon Episode 3 on it.

Of course, the center title is a free space and you need to complete a row/column/diagonal to win. Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s all for now!

MotM, BTS Video, a Sad Princess, & More

Hey guys! We are a bit behind, but I will try my best to share major updates.

There have been a ton of new Mystery of the Map pages, so be sure to check out the Poptropica Creators’ Blog to catch up on the story. There have been 31 pages already!

The Creators’ Inside Poptropica Playlist has also been updated. The new videos include remarkable realm tours, a zombie dance, and more.

Moving on, PopStorm 16 and 17 have been released.

16 is a Poptropican styled bug battle and 17 shows some girls with curls.

Hmm… what else is there…? Oh yes! If you haven’t heard of this dressgate thing, you probably have disconnected from the world for a while. Thankfully the hype of this black and blue/white and gold dress has gone down. If you went onto Poptropica during all the chaos, you may have got a few cool costumes.

dressgate

Of course the dress isn’t the only thing Poptropicans are fangirling over. The Creators recently released a few sneak peeks for the last Arabian Knights episode… specifically images of a very sad looking princess.

Many theories have already been popping up. So what do you think the island’s future will hold?

Hopefully these updates have officially caught everyone up! ๐Ÿ™‚

ghd banner

Great news! Galactic Hot Dogs Island is now out for all. We will try to have a guide for the island soon, but in the meantime, the Poptropica Creators have their own video walkthrough.

Moving on, if you haven’t heard already, the Creators have a new Poptropica Comics series called Mystery of the Map. Don’t worry, the story still follows are favorite Poptropica Comic characters: Oliver and Jorge. So far, there have been 6 pages. To stay up to date, click here.

While on the subject of Poptropica Comics, check out this cool sneak peek.

In other news, time to catch up on PopStorm! So here is 13, 14, and 15.

Hehehe, cute. ๐Ÿ˜› Of course, there are also a ton of amazing Realm creations to be shared!

Check out the Poptropica Twitter for even more remarkable realms!

While on the subject of Poptropica Realms, a select few Poptropicans have been featured on the Poptropica Realms banner, shown on the Poptropica homepage.
